Full STREAM Ahead: How to take Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) to the next level with maker kits

STEM introduced children to multiple areas of science. STEAM brought art into the mix. STREAM takes all areas including reading and writing and stresses the importance of cross curriculum education. All correlations should be natural and we will work on the kits that can be adapted to be used with multi-age groups.

This is a six week Moodle course run asynchronously, meaning you will never need to login to a class on a certain date/time. The fall offering of this course will begin the week of April 6, 2020.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will:

  • Review books and materials that foster multi-disciplinary approach to learning.
  • Create STREAM maker kits to include age appropriate literature and activities to fit multiple age groups.
  • Illustrate how to support STREAM with cuing, prompting, questioning, discussing and telling.
