The Quicklists Consulting Committee created this list to affirm the rights of children and families, while encouraging discussions about social justice and equity.

Mismatched Pairs: Paired Nonfiction and Fiction for Tweens (January 2017)
This booklist was created by members of ALSC's 2016-2017 School-Age Programs and Services Committee to encourage tweens to explore their interests across genres.

The Quicklists Consulting Committee developed this list for librarians, parents, caregivers, teachers, and other caring adults faced with children asking tough questions about the recent election and looking at positive ways to take action. 

Building a Home Library (June 2016)
Four bibliographies created by the ALA-Children’s Book Council (CBC) Joint Committee, with cooperation from ALSC’s Quicklists Consulting Committee to provide guidance to parents, grandparents, and others interested in assembling a high-quality library for their children at home.

2016 Summer Reading Lists (May 2016)
ALSC's Quicklists Consulting Committee has updated our Summer Reading Lists with new and exciting titles! The lists are full of book titles to keep children engaged in reading throughout the summer. Four Summer Reading book lists are available for Birth-Preschool, K-2nd, 3rd- 5th and 6th-8th grade students.

Graphic Novels Reading List Update (February 2016)
ALSC has released three new Graphic Novel Reading Lists. These lists are offered in the ranges of kindergarten to
2nd grade, 3rd to 5th grade and 6thto 8th grade. Graphic novels on this list are defined as a full-length story told in paneled, sequential, graphic format. The list does not include book-length collections of comic strips, wordless picture books or hybrid books that are a mixture of traditional text and comics/graphics. The list includes classics as well as new titles that have been widely recommended and well-reviewed, and books that have popular appeal as well as critical acclaim. The titles were selected, compiled and annotated by members of the ALSC Quicklists Consulting Committee.

2015 Summer Reading List (Update)
ALSC's Quicklists Consulting Committee has updated our Summer Reading Lists with new and exciting titles! The lists are full of book titles to keep children engaged in reading throughout the summer.  Three Summer Reading book lists are available for K-2nd, 3rd- 5th and 6th-8th grade students.

Get Ready Get Safe Book List (June 2015)
The ALSC Quicklists Consulting Committee developed a book list for Save the Children to be included in their Family Kit intended to assist communities in preparing families for natural disasters and helping children cope after a natural disaster has affected them.
ALSC's Quicklists Consulting Committee compiled and annotated this list for the 2015 International Children’s Book Day (ICBD) at the request of the United States Board on Books for Young People (USBBY). The theme for the 2015 ICBD was “Many Cultures, One Story.”

Tween Recommended Reads – December 2013
Members of the 2013 School Age Programs and Services Committee have compiled this list of recommended books for tweens. List is available in full color and black and white to download and print.

Read! Build! Play! 2013 Summer Reading List - May 2013

ALSC Early Childhood Programs and Services Committee created these reading lists that feature recommended titles that inspire play for children age 5 and under. Lists are intended to accompany the Read! Build! Play! initiative.

Notable Children's Books- Current list
Each year the Notable Children's Books Committee selects the best of the best in children's books. These books are of commendable quality, books that exhibit venturesome creativity, and books of fiction, information, poetry and pictures for all age levels (birth through age 14) that reflect and encourage children's interests in exemplary ways.

Summer Favorites reading list - National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) - June 2012

ALSC's Quicklists Consulting Committee worked with NEH to update this reading list, which has been offered since 1998. More than 90 new titles appear on the updated list, which is arranged by grade level and offers more than 230 titles selected for children in Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Money as You Grow - May 2012
This list was developed in May 2012 by the Quicklists Consulting Committee of the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association for the Money as You Grow initiative.

Nature-focused books for children - May 2012
This list was created by the Quicklists Consulting Committee for the American Camp Association’s Explore 30 Camp Reading program.

Great Early Elementary Reads - December 2011
The ALSC 2011-2012 School-Age Programs and Services Committee recommends these titles for children who are just learning to read and beginning to read on their own. The books included were published between 2009 and 2011. However, many are part of a larger series that young readers will also enjoy.
