Do you have a colleague who is a well-organized and knowledgeable manager, a skilled and articulate book evaluator, or an intelligent and creative leader in the field of youth services? Do you recognize one or more of these qualities in yourself? We are looking for ALSC members committed to our core values -- Collaboration, Excellence, Inclusiveness, Innovation, Integrity and Respect, Leadership, and Responsiveness -- to serve our association, contribute to the profession, enhance their career, benefit kids nationwide, and have a great experience in a supportive community. It’s time to start thinking about the next year’s slate of candidates.
The members of the 2019 ALSC Nominating and Leadership Development Committee encourage you to make recommendations for the following important positions for the spring 2019 ballot:
Governance positions: 3-year terms that begin at the conclusion of the 2019 Annual Conference and continue through the end of the 2022 Annual Conference.
- ALSC Vice-President/President-Elect
- ALSC Board Member
- ALSC New to ALSC Board Member (ALSC member no more than 7 years)
- ALSC Fiscal Officer
Award Committee positions: 2-year terms that begin at the conclusion of the 2019 Annual Conference and continue through the end of the 2021 Annual Conference.
- ALSC 2021 Caldecott Award Committee Member
- ALSC 2021 Newbery Award Committee Member
- ALSC 2021 Sibert Award Committee Member
- ALSC 2021 Wilder Award Committee Member
