Join us in celebrating 75 years of distinguished picture books! ALSC has lots of special Caldecott-related events and activities planned throughout the year to make it possible for you to be involved in the celebration, in person, online, and in print. We hope you will find a way to participate and to share the celebration locally with children in your community. Check back here frequently for updates, and follow the celebration at the ALSC blog and on Facebook. Members and subscribers, watch your mailbox this May for the Spring issue of Children and Libraries, dedicated to all things Caldecott and picture book art!

Why not host a Caldecott Mock Election this year?
Celebrate the Caldecott's 75th with a mock election! Election programs are a fun, interactive way to enhance children's listening and discussion skills; encourage kids to read; teach book examination skills; foster an appreciation of fine art and literature; stimulate interest in book awards; and much more! Whether your election focuses on 2012 titles or the entire body of Caldecott winners, involving children (and adults!) in the voting process is an exciting, informative, hands-on experience.
