ALSC has partnered with the National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) to spread the word about how libraries keep kids learning during summer break.
Register your Summer Learning Event:
Are your libraries hosting any specific events or programs to encourage Summer Learning in your communities?
The NSLA has a Summer Learning Day registry for them! Registering your summer learning event or program helps families and other interested youth serving organizations in your communities find you and your program.
National Read Aloud Book
Librarians are encouraged to participate in a national read aloud of 2016 Caldecott Honor, Trombone Shorty!
NSLA has an array of resources available to help celebrate Summer Learning Day and to keep kids learning!
Check out the NSLA webinar featuring ALSC and the Association of Children’s Museums for ideas on how libraries are using the book as a way to get children thinking about creating musical instruments and other STEAM-related projects.
