Preservation Standards & Practices Committee (PS&P)
To promote and support the development and use of appropriate methods and materials employed in the preservation of library materials in all formats. To identify and review relevant information regarding standards, recommended practices and technical reports. To promote and coordinate section activities and bring potentially beneficial interactions with other groups sharing similar interests within and outside of ALA to the attention of PARS leadership.

Membership is made of 6 members plus one Chair, two members for books and paper materials and issues, two members for recording and photographic media and issues, and two members for reformatting techniques and issues.
The Preservation Standards and Practices Committee was established in 2009 when PARS reorganized, merging the Book and Paper Committee, the Recording Media Committee, and the Reformatting Committee.
