Composition
The Executive Committee consists of 7 members elected from the membership at large, plus 3 ex-officio. There are three officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary), plus Past-Chair, three (3) Members-at-Large. The PARS Policy, Planning and Publications Committee Chair, the PARS representative to the ALCTS Budget and Finance Committee, and ALCTS Executive Director serve ex-officio, without a vote.
Origin
PARS was formed in 1994 merging RLMS (Reproduction of Library Materials Section) and PLMS (Preservation of Library Materials Section). The strength of PARS lies the diverse yet collaborative skills that are the focal point of preservation. The section is concerned with issues that range from fine binding to digital preservation. The members in the section are excellent communicators and are keen on networking and mentoring each other.
