Composition

The Continuing Resources Section consists of committees with membership appointed by the section's incoming Chair; award juries selected for one-year terms; two interest groups organized on a volunteer basis; and officers elected by the membership and serving two-year and led by the Chair of the Section.

Subcommitees and Task Forces

The Continuing Resources Section consists of committees with membership appointed by the section's incoming Chair; award juries selected for one-year terms; two interest groups organized on a volunteer basis; and officers elected by the membership and serving two-year and led by the Chair of the Section.

Origin

In July 2007 the ALCTS Serials Section changed its name to the Continuing Resources Section. The name change was adopted in response to the trends in the profession, the materials that serials librarians work with and the digital information environment.  Its mission was likewise broadened from serials to continuing resources in all formats and for all types of libraries.

Get Involved

ALCTS values committed and active committee members. Qualified members are welcome to volunteer to serve on any Continuing Resources committees. Volunteers must be a member of ALCTS and the CRS Section in order to be appointed. Usually there are meetings at Midwinter and Annual conferences with much work accomplished electronically between meetings. Appointments are made in the spring of each year by the incoming Chair. Committee service begins immediately following the Annual Conference, usually July 1. Express your willingness to serve by completing a volunteer form.
