Subcommitees and Task Forces
Working Group on LCGFT Literature Terms
The SAC Subcommittee on Genre/Form Implementation Working Group on LCGFT Literature Terms is charged with working with the Policy and Standards Division of the Library of Congress to identify existing LCSH form headings for literature (e.g., Detective and mystery stories; Haiku) and recommending which of them should be included in Library of Congress Genre/Form Terms for Library and Archival Materials (LCGFT). The group will review and recommend the preferred and variant forms for each suggested LCGFT term. It will also develop syndetic relationships among the literature terms and between the terms for literature and other terms already in LCGFT. The chair of the group will give a progress report to the full subcommittee at the ALA Annual and Midwinter meetings.
