Getting Ready for RDA and FRBR:
What You Need to Know
an ALCTS program
Saturday, June 28, 2008 4:00 p.m - 5:30 p.m.
Anaheim, California
Libraries, archives, and museums, among others, need to prepare for the release of Resource Description and Access in 2009. This new standard differs from AACR2, and incorporates concepts from the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records and Functional Requirements for Authority Data. This program focuses on this functionality, as well as implementation strategies, issues (e.g., necessary infrastructure, re-thinking cataloging workflows, timelines), and education (i.e., "roadshows", web-based training) and the impact of RDA across the stakeholders' communities.
