Diachronic Works, the IFLA Library Reference Model (LRM), and RDA: Three Perspectives 2019 ALA Midwinter Meeting

Monday, January 28, 2019  |  10:30–11:30 a.m.  |  Upper Ballroom West, Hyatt Regency

As we move further into the world of RDA and the IFLA Library Reference Model (LRM), one of the concepts under development is a distinction between “diachronic” and “static” works. This change in how we think of resources issued over time will be important as libraries transition to the new RDA . This forum will focus on the impact of the LRM and the diachronic work on serials cataloging using RDA, related LC-PCC policy statements, and how the concept of the diachronic work relates to the practices of the ISSN Network.
