Interested in learning about ALCTS, what it does, and how you can become involved? Then join us for a fun-filled ALCTS 101 on Friday evening, June 22 from 7:30–9:30pm, in the Avila Room (4th floor) of the Anaheim Hilton. We’ll have ALCTS colleagues on hand to tell you about ALCTS, to answer your questions about what we do, and to encourage you to become involved. We also have colleagues lined up to help you with your resume, if you’re looking for some expert advice from experienced technical services colleagues. Wear your sensible shoes and be prepared for a fast-paced evening. We’ve set the evening up in a speed-dating format, so you’ll be moving quickly from one table to the next, meeting lots of ALCTS colleagues along the way.
Meet with an ALCTS Ambassador
ALA wants your first Annual Conference to be extraordinary, so when you register, be sure to check I am a first time registrant of the ALA Annual Conference. You will automatically be signed-up to receive a personal welcome from an ALA Ambassador—an ALA member who is a long-time conference-goer. ALA Ambassadors help you make connections to programs, people and places before conference so that your time there can be well spent. Ask the questions YOU need answered before you go. Also, at conference, ALA Ambassadors can be identified by their name tags—stop anyone anytime in the halls to ask, or find us at the Welcome Desk at the Membership Pavilion.
