Volunteer with ALCTS

It's time to begin to fill committee positions for next year, beginning July 1, 2012. The appointing officers of ALCTS, the President-elect and the section chair-elects, are looking for members who want to serve. In addition to committees, there are working groups, task forces, subcommittees, Interest Groups, and more. ALCTS provides a wide variety of opportunities whether or not you can attend the ALA conferences. Even if you don't have a lot of time, ALCTS has short-term assignments that might meet your needs, and ours.

First step is to fill out of the volunteer form: http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/alcts/mgrps/howto/vol_form.cfm

Tell us who you are and what you'd like to do. The more information you provide the better able the appointing officers can match your interests and background with a position. If you are interested in working with an Interest Group, contact the chair of that group and tell them you're willing to help out.
