Since ALCTS needs to stress the importance of continuing education to our profession, we will hold an Education Action Summit at Midwinter. Committee and section members involved in education efforts within ALCTS will attend this summit to gain insight as well as tips for improving and expanding the continuing education opportunities offered by ALCTS. | MORE

A goal that holds all of ALA accountable for a well governed and managed organization was probably far overdue. ALCTS has had such a goal with the inception of our own strategic plan in 2001. That goal is always not too far from my own management of ALCTS. It is an essential check against which we have made some very difficult decisions over that past couple of years. | MORE
