So What Happened in Berlin?

miriam palm, alcts editor If you want to know the answers to this question, be sure to read our extensive coverage of the 69th IFLA Conference, now titled World Library and Information Conference, held August 1-9, 2003. ALCTS has a very active participation in IFLA, and these reports from "our" representatives are really interesting.

Our division's annual report for the past year is in this issue, summarizing all our accomplishments of the past twelve months. This issue also contains detailed information about the procedures to establish an "interest group" within ALCTS, which is important to all of us.

We are happy to announce the appointment of the editor of the ALCTS Papers series, and are now seeking candidates to be the next editor of LRTS. We are seeking nominations for the awards our division will give in 2004 to outstanding members of our community. And we mourn the passing of a colleague whose presence and contributions will be missed.

Several continuing education opportunities are also covered, so I hope you read this issue from "cover to cover."
