Successful Cataloging Recruitment Mentoring Program to Recruit Catalogers Pilot The program goals were to foster an exchange between practicing library professionals and library school graduate students and to develop an interest in cataloging careers among students currently enrolled in library school programs. 100% of the mentees would encourage fellow students to participate in this program, and 90% answered that they had gained a better understanding of what it means to be a cataloger as a result of participating in the program.
Ann Sandberg-Fox Obituary ALCTS mourns loss of Ann M. Sandberg-Fox, an internationally respected cataloging trainer and consultant who was one of the first Library of Congress (LC) employees to catalog computer files.
ALCTS Seeks Nominations for 2004 Awards Each year ALCTS presents eight awards to honor individuals whose work represents the finest achievements in research, creative work, leadership and service in the field of library collections and technical services. ALCTS Papers Series Editor Appointed The ALCTS Board has appointed a new editor to the theme-oriented series publishing papers from ALCTS continuing education offerings and conference programs and other appropriate groups.
Digital Preservation Program Funding The National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program (NDIIPP) seeks applications for projects that will advance the nationwide program to collect and preserve digital materials.
