Do you need someone to talk to your group about new ways to use OCLC? Or an experienced speaker to discuss e-commerce and the many changes in library acquisitions procedures? Perhaps you are struggling to plan a conference that must stay within a modest budget. How can you locate speakers who understand technical services concerns, are willing to share their expertise, and will participate without a speaker’s fee? The Council of Regional Groups (CRG) Speakers’ Bureau may be the answer.
The CRG Speakers’ Bureau Directory contains the names of ALCTS members willing to serve as speakers about a variety of technical services issues, at a cost only of expense reimbursement. The list can be searched in three ways: speaker’s name, geographical location, and topic of expertise. Information about a speaker’s experience and how to contact him or her is included in each listing.
Potential speakers must be members of ALCTS and must be willing to speak free of honorarium. If you are an ALCTS member and would like to be entered in the directory, please fill out a CRG Speakers’ Bureau Directory Speaker Information Form. You also may nominate someone to be added to the directory, after you obtain the speaker’s permission.
