Ross Atkinson, Associate University Librarian for Collections at Cornell University, is concluding his three-year term as ALCTS Councilor, the division’s official representative to ALA Council. To thank Ross for his service in this role, the ALCTS Board passed the following resolution during Annual Conference in Atlanta:

  • Whereas, he has demonstrated a seemingly infinite capacity for attending and attending to meetings interminable, frustrating and arcane, and
  • Whereas, he has keenly tracked Council issues of interest and concern to ALCTS and has solicited ALCTS opinions on those issues, and
  • Whereas, he has counseled us wisely and with tact on how to render those opinions as intelligible and intelligent positions,
  • Be it resolved that the ALCTS Board of Directors extends deepest thanks to Ross Atkinson for his committed and incisive service as ALCTS Councilor from 1999 through 2002.
