Offices and Terms of Office
ALCTS, its Sections, and the Council of Regional Groups nominates and elects officers in the spring of every year. Not all offices are elected every year. This page lists the offices, the number of openings, and the terms of office.
Division
President-elect/President/Past-President
President-elect is the office that appears on the ballot and for which candidates stand for election. The total number of years in office is three.

Director-at-Large
There are three Director-at-Large positions elected on a rotating basis over three years, one per year.

Division Councilor
The Division Councilor is the ALCTS representative on ALA Council. This position is elected every three years and the Councilor is eligible for re-election for a second term.

Secretary
ALCTS does not elect the position of Secretary at the division level.
