The Baker & Taylor/YALSA Conference grants award two YALSA members $1,000 each to attend the Annual Conference for the first time. One grant is given to a school library media specialist and the other is given to a public librarian.

Application

This grant is funded by the Baker and Taylor Company. The two grants of $1,000 each are awarded to librarians who work directly with young adults to enable them to attend the Annual Conference for the first time. One grant is given to a school librarian and one grant is given to a public librarian.  Applications must be received in the YALSA office by December 1.

Requirements for Application are:

The application must be submitted by e mail to Nichole Gilbert at ngilbert@ala.org no later than December 1 on the official application form (Word Doc). 

Guidelines

  1. All entries must include the official application form (Word Doc) provided below by the Young Adult Library Services Association.
  2. All applicants must be current personal members of ALA/YALSA at the time the application is submitted.  (Please note that it takes about 2 months to fully process your application for membership.  If you are just joining, please make sure you send a copy of your membership application with the grant application.)
  3. Entries should be models of clarity and completeness.
