Membership: One Convenor, discussion group meetings open to entire YALSA membership.
Qualifications: YALSA members who attend the Midwinter Meeting and Annual Conference of ALA.
Term of Office: No term
Function: A discussion group to provide a person-to-person avenue of communication and networking for librarians serving young adults in large urban systems who attend ALA conferences. Between conferences networking and communication will continue with the use of YA-URBAN, an electronic list.
History: Created as a result of a survey to the 50 largest urban library systems. See JOYS, Summer 1998, pp. 391-395, for more information.
