In August 2003, the United States House of Representatives Committee on Government Reform, Minority Staff, Special Investigations Division issued "Politics and Science in the Bush Administration", which reports numerous instances where the Administration has manipulated the scientific process and distorted or suppressed scientific findings. According to the report, beneficiaries include important supporters of the President, including social conservatives and powerful industry groups. (PDF)
