The RUSA Membership Committee invites all interested RUSA members to visit, in person or virtually, with library science students to discuss RUSA, the membership benefits or RUSA, and how RUSA can help professionals. Participation in the program includes participants’ willingness to discuss their reasons for joining RUSA, the benefits their membership has had, and background on their own experiences in the profession.
The Committee has developed a kit you can use to organize your visit. The kit includes an outline about setting up and presenting at your site visit (need to include a link to our outline), a suggested script, powerpoint (if desired) you can use during your visit. There is also a list of library schools across the United States and Canada (need to include a link to download our contact file). We have also developed a brochure geared towards new professionals for you to use (need to include a link to download our brochure). There is also an order form to request RUSA information to distribute to the students (our brochure should be listed as one of the pieces of info that can be ordered via this form).
If you are interested in visiting with students and have contacted an institution already, please complete the form below, indicating the name of the school and the date of your visit. After your visit, please e-mail the number of students with whom you met to RUSA Staff.
