ALA Research Series
The purpose of the ALA Research Series is to expand the knowledge base of library research through publishing quantitative and/or qualitative research and analysis that addresses topics important to libraries, librarians, and education in the profession. The series also will provide an opportunity for librarians/scholars to publish their research in a peer-reviewed book series.
Series scope
The series will seek both monographs and edited volumes. It will solicit book projects from North America and consider international submissions.
The focus of the series will be on topics of broad appeal and relevance to the library community –accessible, useful, practical, sustainable research. The series:
- will encourage research based on methods other than surveys, such as observational research, content analysis, grounded theory research, and ethnographic technique, as well as research that blend different methods.
- will not be a statistical series.
