AASL's 2008 Fall Forum endnote speaker named

CHICAGO – The American Association of School Librarians (AASL), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), is pleased to announce the endnote speaker for AASL’s 2008 Fall Forum will be Everett Kline. The Fall Forum, Assessment, Part II: Constructing and Interpreting Viable Tools for Effective Student Learning in the Library Media Center, will be held October 17 - 19 in Oak Brook, Ill. (Chicago area), at the Oak Brook Hills Marriott Resort. Kline's speech is entitled Our Beliefs, Our Practice: Ensuring That They Match.

Kline has been a classroom teacher, building program leader and assistant superintendent for instruction and learning for the South Orange-Maplewood School District in New Jersey. Over the last 10 years, Kline has been a consultant for public and private schools, school districts, colleges and universities and state departments of education in more than 45 states and seven foreign countries. Transforming Schools: Creating a Culture of Continuous Improvement, which Kline co-authored, was chosen by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) as the member book in spring 2004. Kline holds an M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Ford Fellow, and a B.A. from the University of Chicago. Kline also studied at Princeton University, where he was designated Master Teacher.
