The Notable Books Council in the Collection Development and Evaluation Section (CODES) of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) is sponsoring the literary breakfast to be held from 8 to 10:30 a.m., June 24, in the Grand Ballroom at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel.
The authors scheduled to appear are noted poet and Prairie Schooner Prize recipient, Kathleen Flenniken, “Famous”; two-time National Book Award nominee, Melissa Fay Greene, “There Is No Me without You: One Woman’s Odyssey to Rescue Africa’s Children”; and Jed Horne, editor with the New Orleans Times Picayune who received two Pulitzer Prizes for his part of the newspaper’s coverage of Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath, and author of “Breach of Faith: Hurricane Katrina and the Near Death of a Great American City.” The authors have been selected from the 2007 Notable Book Council’s “List for
The writers will read from their work or talk about an aspect of the writing process while attendees enjoy breakfast. They will be available to sign books and for one-on-one discussions after the breakfast.
