Public Programming Electronic Discussion List

If you would like to be among the first to hear about cultural programming opportunities, please subscribe to the Public Programming electronic discussion list. This list has approximately 2,200 subscribers representing all types of libraries – public, academic, school (K-12) and special.

The Public Programs Office staff use this list to provide information about new programming grants for libraries; resources and training opportunities related to library programming; and special offers and programming tie-ins with our partners and friends.

Subscribers may also use the list to discuss all aspects of library programming, ask questions of colleagues, and share related news and announcements. Only subscribers may post messages, and all messages are reviewed by a moderator prior to posting.

Before subscribing, please read our List Guidelines

How to Manage List Preferences, Post, Unsubscribe and Change Your Email Address:

Visit http://lists.ala.org/wws and log in at the bottom of the page using your email address and password. If you do not already have a password, follow the instructions at the bottom of the page. You will receive an email message with password information shortly.

Once logged in, select the “Your Subscriptions” button at the top right side of the page. You will see a list of all of your ALA electronic list subscriptions, including the Public Programming list.

Click the list name (pubprgms@ala.org). You should then see several links at the left side of the page:

1) Select “Subscriber Options” to set your preferences. For example, select “No Mail” if you will be out of the office for the summer and do not wish to receive messages during that time. You can select “Digest” to have all list messages compiled and sent to you in one message per day. Click the “Help” button in this area for complete definitions of each preference option.

2) Select “Unsubscribe” if you would like to terminate your subscription to the list. A pop up message will appear asking you to confirm your request. Select “Yes” to complete the process.

3) Select “Archive” if you would like to search the archive of past messages to the list.

4) Select “Post” if you would like to post a message to the list. Alternately, you can send an email addressed to pubprgms@ala.org.

Please note that undeliverable email addresses will be automatically deleted. You may be on one of our mailing or discussion lists, but not receiving messages about new grants because we do not have your updated information. If your email address has changed, log in at http://lists.ala.org/wws and select the “Preferences” tab at the top right side of the page. You can also use this tab to consolidate subscriptions to more than one email address.

If you require additional assistance, please contact publicprograms@ala.org and a staff member will get back to you as soon as possible.
