Every Child Ready to Read @ your library for the Spanish-speaking community
PLA/ALSC have not done testing on using these parent/caregiver early literacy workshops with Spanish-speaking groups. However, several demonstration sites took this information to their Spanish-speaking communities.
We concentrated on the skills emphasized in the Early Talker and Talker workshops. Further work needs to be done to see how best to incorporate phonological awareness skills using the Spanish language.
These documents are offered as aids for your own adaptations. You may have to adapt some of the wording to the Spanish most prevalent in your area.
