Subcommittee on Library Services to American Indians
Charge
The OLOS Subcommittee on Library Services to American Indians will support the OLOS Advisory Committee by engaging in the following activities:
- Developing information networks and facilitating the exchange of information between Native American communities and institutions, especially those with Native American archives.
- Through education and programming, raising awareness in the public and the library profession about the library/information and literacy needs of Native American communities as underserved populations.
- Coordinating and planning the development of workshops, institutes and meetings to promote library services in Native American communities and providing forums at ALA and other library conferences for those interested in tribal and Alaskan Native village libraries and other Native American libraries.
