Registration Information

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”—The First Amendment

These sessions are for attorneys and library trustees to improve their ability to protect the First Amendment in libraries. Librarians may attend, but they must be accompanied by an attorney.

The American Library Association (ALA) will be presenting the Florida “Lawyers for Libraries” Training Institute in Tampa, November 14, 2008. This will be the 12th in a series of regional institutes following two national institutes in 1997 and 1998.
