Hundreds of libraries across the country will join the American Library Association (ALA) in celebrating the popularity and educational value of video and board games for the first-ever National Gaming Day @ your library on November 15, 2008.

On Saturday, November 15, 2008, hundreds of libraries throughout the country showcased gaming programs and services in support of the first-ever National Gaming Day @ your library (NGD). 

National Videogame Tournament Results

More than 29 libraries in 18 states participated in the National Gaming Day @ your library videogame tournament.

Winner: Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library, Evansville, Ind. 

Second Place:  Ann Arbor (Mich.) District Library

Third Place: Flagstaff (Arz.)Public Library, East Flagstaff Branch

Fourth Place: Jerome (Idaho) Public Library 

The winning band of the national rock band high-score contest was the band "Odiferous", which recorded a score of 1,298,729 at the Newman Regional Library in Newman, Illinois, edging out their local rivals "Chinese Democracy" to win both their town tournament and take the top spot on the GT System rock band leaderboard.
