E-mail: rhuffine@usgs.govBio: Richard Huffine has been a practicing librarian in Washington, DC since 1996 when he relocated from Asheville, North Carolina to take a position with a contractor to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Richard spent 9 years working on library and information projects for the U.S. EPA, rising to the position of National Program Manager for the EPA's National Library Network. Richard is currently the National Library Coordinator for the U.S. Geological Survey in Reston, Virginia. the U.S. Geological Survey operates four branch libraries in Reston, VA, Denver, CO, Flagstaff, AZ, and Menlo Park, CA. In addition, the Survey has 17 Science Center Libraries located in research facilities across the United States. The USGS Library is considered one of the largest natural science libraries in the United States.
In his personal life, Richard is also active in the community in support of public libraries in the District of Columbia. As president of the Friends of the Mount Pleasant Library and the Federation of Friends of the DC Public Library, he helps coordinate support and advocacy among Friends organizations across the District. Richard was also the founding Chair of the Government Information Division within the Special Libraries Association in 2004. The SLA Government Information Division is focused on networking and professional development for information professionals that manage and use government information as critical elements of their work.
Richard has been an active member of the American Libraries Association since his time as an MLIS student at the University of Norh Carolina - Greensboro. Richard is a member of the Government Documents Round Table, the Maps and Geography Round Table, and the Subcommittee on Federal Libraries under the ALA Committee on Legislation. Richard has previously served as an elected member of the Federal Libraries and Information Centers Committee and in 2004, he co-chaired a Working Group on the Catagorization of Government Information under the E-Gov Act of 2002.

E-mail: nfaget@gpo.govBio: Nancy Faget holds a BS in Marketing and MLIS from Louisiana State University where she was inducted into Beta Phi Mu in 1999. She has experience as a librarian in a community college, Department of Army Library Intern, electronic services librarian at the Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters, and program planning specialist for the FDLP at GPO. Nancy started the "Careers in Federal Libraries" events in 2007 to educate job seekers about federal service. She wrote about her experiences in federal librarianship in "A Day in the Life: Career Options in Library and Information Science". Through her elected office as a rotating member of FLICC, she helped plan the first career & job fair at the Library of Congress in the fall of 2008. This year, Nancy will host mini-Career events at 7 library schools around the country.

Bio: Karl Debus-López has worked in a broad range of management positions in technical services with a focus on acquisitions and collection development for his nineteen year career as a librarian. He currently serves as the Chief of the newly formed U.S. General Division within the Acquisitions and Bibliographic Access Directorate at the Library of Congress. The U.S. General Division selects, catalogs, and processes Copyright and CIP monographs and serials and manages the Dewey Decimal Classification system operations for the library. Previous to his work at the Library of Congress, Karl worked at the National Agricultural Library (NAL) as the Head of the Acquisitions and Collection Development Branch and Chief Collection Development Officer for the Library. At NAL, he was instrumental in the creation of NAL's new digital repository, AgSpace, and has implemented a number of time and cost savings functions within the Technical Services Division including rapid cataloging services and electronic ordering and invoicing functionality between NAL's principal vendors and Ex Libris/Voyager.
Prior to working at NAL, Karl served as Associate University Librarian for Collections and Technical Services at Georgetown University, managing all technical services and collection development operations. He also served as Acting Associate University Librarian for Special Collections at Georgetown University and was a key library leader who developed a new library for Georgetown's School of Foreign Service in Doha, Qatar. In addition to his employment at NAL and Georgetown, Karl has been employed as the Head of the Acquisitions and Serials Department at the University of Wisconsin--Madison where he assisted in a significant reorganization of the library's Technical Services Division. He has also served as Head of the Technical Services Office at the Executive Office of the President Library, Head of Monographic Acquisitions at NAL, and Acquisitions Librarian in the Serial Records Section at the National Library of Medicine. He has received many awards for job performance and special projects. Karl was elected to the position of Chair of the ALCTS Acquisitions Section from 2005 to 2006 and served on the ALCTS Board during that time. He has a Bachelor's degree from Cornell University, a Master's in Regional Planning from Cornell University, and a Master's in Library Science from the University of Maryland.

E-mail: sally.bosken@usno.navy.milBio: Sally Bosken is currently the Director of the U.S. Naval Observatory Library, the largest astronomy in the United States. Before assuming that post in February 2006, she directed the research libraries in Bethesda and Reston for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Her husband’s U.S. State Department Foreign Service career took her overseas for 18 years. She held a variety of jobs (weeded the American Studies Collection at the University of Indonesia, filed cards at the Library of Congress office in Jakarta, taught English at the Japanese school in Seoul Korea, a “docent” for the Harriman art collection in Paris, France and taught 2nd grade in Vienna, Austria.) Her first library job was with the RAND Corporation in Washington D.C.
Ms. Bosken is an active member of both SLA and ALA. She is a member of the Military Librarians’ Division and is the Secretary of PAM (Physics, Astronomy, and Math Roundtable). She was elected to the Federal and Armed Forces Libraries Roundtable’s Board as the Federal Director for July 2005- June 2007. She served a three year term as an appointed member of the Montgomery County Public Library Board. She is an active FLICC member and was the hostess for a Great Escape to the USNO in October 2006.
Ms. Bosken holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan, an MLS from Catholic University and completed post graduate courses at University of Maryland.

Bio: I received my MLIS from the Florida State University College of Information in spring of 1994. I began my library career working for the Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) in New York City. I started out as a librarian generalist working in several Brooklyn Public Library branches. Within two years I received a promotion as the Assistant Division Chief of the Social Sciences and Philosophy Division, located in the BPL Central Library. My next position was as the Government Documents Coordinator for the National Library of Education (NLE). The NLE is located in the Washington, DC office of the Department of Education. While employed at the NLE, I worked with the Executive Director on a pilot digitization project converting Department of Education legislation into a searchable CD-ROM. Currently I work for the US Government Printing Office (GPO). I was hired as a Depository Library Inspector. I then moved to Education and Development where I supervised the web content team responsible for GPO Access and the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) web site [www.fdlp.gov]. I am now the Senior Content Coordinator and work with the web team as the library and depository program subject specialist.

www.sti.nasa.govBio: Kim Lyall received her BA in History from Washington College in May 2005 and her MLS from the University of Maryland College Park in May 2008. While completing her MLS Kim worked as a Student Library Technician at the National Archives Library and Information Center and as an intern at the Department of Justice Main Law Library. She currently works as an Outreach Specialist at the NASA Center for AeroSpace Information, performing a variety of duties centered around outreach to the NASA STI community.
Kim became active in FAFLRT as a New Members Round Table liaison to FAFLRT, working to connect new ALA members and librarians to the Federal library community. She also acts as Group Administrator for the Careers in Federal Libraries Google Group which serves to connect job seekers with current federal librarians and information managers. Kim recently developed an online resume review service to serve the Careers in Federal Libraries Google Group community. After 12 years, I left the military and spent four years at East Tennessee State University, earning a BA in English with a minor in Criminology. Following a brief period as a probation officer in Georgia, I attended graduate school at the University of Hawaii, earning a masters degree in Library and Information Science in May 2004. My federal library service began in October 2004 as a reference librarian for the MCAS Cherry Point Station Library in Havelock, NC and in August 2006 I began my current position as manager of the MCAS New River Station Library in Jacksonville, NC.
