40th Anniversary of the Coretta Scott King Book Awards
The 40th Anniversary Breakfast was a great success! For those who were not able to attend, the PowerPoint presentation is now available online.
Here on the Coretta Scott King Book Awards website you will find information about the books, winners, and history of the awards. This year we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the book awards. In the coming days leading up to ALA's Annual Conference in Chicago we will be adding new content, including photos, interviews, and other media related to the awards so don't forget to come back to www.ala.org/csk.

Author and Illustrator Awards
Given to African American authors and illustrator for outstanding inspirational and educational contributions, the Coretta Scott King Book Award titles promote understanding and appreciation of the culture of all peoples and their contribution to the realization of the American dream of a pluralistic society.
The award is designed to commemorate the life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and to honor Mrs. Coretta Scott King for her courage and determination to continue the work for peace and world brotherhood.
