Baker & Taylor/YALSA Conference Grants
Application
This grant is funded by the Baker and Taylor Company. The two grants of $1,000 each are awarded to librarians who work directly with young adults to enable them to attend the Annual Conference for the first time. One grant is given to a school librarian and one grant is given to a public librarian. Applications must be received in the YALSA office by December 1.
Requirements for Application are:
- YALSA personal membership (preferably for at least two years)
- One to ten years experience working with teenagers
- No previous attendance at an Annual ALA Conference
The application must be submitted by e-mail to Nichole Gilbert at ngilbert@ala.org no later than December 1 on the official application form (Word Doc).
Guidelines
- All entries must include the official application form (Word Doc) provided below by the Young Adult Library Services Association.
- All applicants must be current personal members of ALA/YALSA at the time the application is submitted. (Please note that it takes about 2 months to fully process your application for membership. If you are just joining, please make sure you send a copy of your membership application with the grant application.)
- Entries should be models of clarity and completeness.
