BRASS Representative to the RUSA Access to Information Committee

Establishment of Position
Established in 1988.

Purpose of the RUSA Committee
To investigate and make recommendations regarding any aspect of access to information or intellectual freedom relating to the interests of RUSA and to the responsibilities of public service librarians.

Meeting Time of the RUSA Committee
No set meeting time; normally one meeting at Annual and Midwinter.

Term of Office
Two years.

BRASS Duties

  • To convey BRASS concerns to the RUSA Access to Information Committee.
  • To serve as the liaison between BRASS and the RUSA Access to Information Committee on issues related to intellectual freedom.
  • To solicit Executive Committee input on items of concern.
  • To attend the BRASS Executive Committee meeting and report on the RUSA Access to Information Committee's activities and decisions.
