CONFERENCE: Midwinter Meeting
MEETING: IG Business Meeting
ATTENDEES: 16
CURRENT ACTIVITIES:
We held a business meeting at Midwinter to finalize plans for our program for Annual 2009 on online registration for summer reading programs. Attendance (16) surprised us, and we took advantage of this to query attendees as to what they would like to see the group do over the next year or two. One idea that came out of the discussion was to offer "ask the expert" sessions at Midwinter and Annual, and the group plans to pursue this idea. Other ideas were to look at developing technology competencies for staff in small and medium sized libraries and to plan a discussion or program in which "leaders" in technology discussed several "failed" technologies that staff from smaller libraries could "skip."
FUTURE ACTIVITIES:
We are in the middle of planning a program for Annual 2009 on online registration for summer reading. We also plan to try out the "ask an expert" idea as well during our discussion session at Annual. We're also in the middle of gathering the necessary documentation for our renewal.
