CURRENT_ACTIVITIES:

The group held a wide-ranging discussion starting with federated search and open source catalogs/WorldCat Local. Two attendees from Thailand discussed a cooperative ebook project. Some general issues with shared ILS systems were discussed including shared bib records, delivery and hold fees, and the issues around building trust. This led to a thread on electronic journals, copyright, and ILL requests within consortia. Final discussion topic was cost allocation, with many different approaches around the table.

FUTURE_ACTIVITIES:

We plan on continuing to meet at the next ALA Midwinter and Annual meetings and provide librarians with an opportunity to discuss a wide range of technological issues pertaining to Library consortia.
