SOLINET to Offer ebrary Products to 2600 Member Libraries in the Southeast
The Southeastern Library Network (SOLINET) has partnered with ebrary®,
a leading information services and technology provider, to distribute the ebrary Dynamic Content Platform (DCP)TM to SOLINET’s
more than 2600 member libraries at discounted pricing. The partnership brings SOLINET members an affordable solution for
providing their patronage with authoritative content and sophisticated research technology, while enabling ebrary to
efficiently promote its products to the southeastern U.S. library market.
“ebrary’s DCP is truly a unique product that solves a number of problems for librarians and patrons alike,” said Timothy
Cherubini, SOLINET’s Manager for Program Management and Development. “Not only does ebrary’s DCP provide a number of different
collections of full-text books, reports, and other content from leading publishers, all ebrary collections are delivered
under a simultaneous, multi-user access model.”
“Furthermore, ebrary’s technology provides multiple options for efficient search and navigation as well as a bookshelf feature
that saves links to highlights, notes, and bookmarks,” continued Timothy Cherubini. “With the ebrary ReaderTM, documents are
displayed page-by-page in seconds. With InfoToolsTM, patrons can instantly search across content in the DCP, a library’s OPAC,
third party databases in the library, and on the Internet. We are very excited to offer the ebrary DCP to our member
libraries.”
“Since its founding, SOLINET has been a leader in providing the library community with products and services that enhance
access to information resources,” said David Bass, ebrary’s Sr. Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “ebrary is extremely
proud to partner with such a forward-thinking organization, and we look forward to helping them achieve their mission of
building a future where all libraries are the cornerstones of the world’s information infrastructure.”
