The Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA) enhances the effectiveness of library service by providing networking, enrichment and educational opportunities for its diverse members, who represent state library agencies, libraries serving special populations, multitype library organizations and independent librarians.

Library Accessibility –What You Need to Know

New! The ASCLA “Library Accessibility –What You Need to Know” toolkit series of fifteen tipsheets was developed to help librarians in all types of libraries understand and manage access issues. These issues include but are not limited to: patrons who have cognitive, mental, or emotional illnesses; patrons with learning and/or developmental disabilities; patrons with service animals; patrons needing assistive technologies and patrons with physical disabilities. LNCC Survey Results Are Available

ASCLA is pleased to announce that it will house the Library Networks, Cooperatives and Consortia (LNCC) final report data. The data was collected from more thanover 200 participating library networks, cooperatives and consortia. The data was collected through a project administered by the ALA Office for Research and Statistics (ORS) and funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

The LNCC survey results provide a wide range of data about how library networks and cooperatives operate and the many ways in which these collaborative organizations help to advance learning communities. ASCLA will encourage participants from the base study to regularly update directory information and the data derived from the surveys to keep the data as up-to-date as possible. A tutorial and podcast are available to help users search, view and export records from the survey database. Go to the survey page.
