Pat Mora Launches Día Celebration

Pat Mora, noted children’s author, launched the tenth anniversary celebration of El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day) during the ALA Midwinter Meeting on January 21, 2006, at the San Antonio Public Library (SAPL). Mora joined SAPL staff to present their plans for the Día celebration, which takes place on April 30. Ideas for promoting “bookjoy” and bilingual literacy in the library were part of the presentation.

These Día buttons were among the 10th anniversary items available to attendees at the launch.  Bookmarks, stickers, magnets, and posters were also distributed to attendees for use in their library celebration activities.  basket of buttons
