ALSC 2010 National Institute

Overview
The Institute is held biennially and is a two and a half day intensive learning opportunity with a youth services focus and is designed for front-line youth library staff, children’s literature experts, education and library school faculty members, and other interested adults.
Location
Workshop programs will be located in the beautiful Emory Conference Center Hotel. For your convenience, a room block with a special group rate has been secured. The Emory Conference Center Hotel is nestled in 20 acres of forest preserve on the Emory University campus. The hotel was architecturally inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's philosopy of integrating open architecture with natural surroundings and is Green Seal Certified. Additionally, the hotel is only 15 miles from the Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport. Atlanta is home to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Historic Site, Jimmy Carter Library & Museum, Margaret Mitchell House, Georgia Aquarium, New World of Coca-Cola, and Imagine It! Programs & Special Events
Attendees will participate in a variety of relevant and high quality programs with a youth services focus. Additionally, several keynotes will be delivered by nationally recognized authors and illustrators.
Networking
There will be plenty of networking opportunities to meet with colleagues new and old! Our Association Connection program will feature engaging networking activities and fun short programs to help you connect with other Institute attendees.
