Papers on "Post-Digital Libraries Research Futures" Now AvailableOn June 15-17, 2004, the National Science Foundation hosted an invitational workshop on Cape Cod, MA, organized by Ron Larsen of the University of Pittsburgh and Howard Wactlar of Carnegie-Mellon University, on what was variously termed "Post-Digital Libraries Research Futures" or "Ubiquitous Knowledge Environments". Each participant was asked to prepare a background paper; these background papers and other materials (some presentations from the conference, breakout reports, etc) are now up on the conference Web site, and provide a fascinating spectrum of perspectives on the potential future research agendas for digital libraries and a host of related technologies. Note that if you go to the bottom of the papers page, there is a link that allows you to download a full set of the papers (compressed) in various formats as a single file. |
