Research & Publications Committee
Charge
Monitors the current status of research in continuing resources/serials and identifies areas where research is needed. Encourages librarians to propose topics and problems related to serials for discussion, research, programming, and publications. Develops and reviews publications prior to submission to the CRS Executive Committee; refers proposals and manuscripts approved by the executive committee to the division publications committee and expedites their progress through the publication process. Identifies appropriate topics for new publications; establishes subcommittees and identifes existing section resources to develop guides and other publications. Consults with other section units that wish to prepare publications; maintains contacts with LRTS and ALCTS Newsletter editors. Coordinates the group's work with the ALCTS Research and Statistics Interest Group, the ALA Research and Statistics Assembly, and the ALCTS Publications Committee.
