Subcommittee on Subject Analysis Training Materials
Charge: To collaborate with the Program for Cooperative Cataloging Standing Committee on Training (SCT) to develop authoritative, standardized training materials in subject analysis. The subcommittee will serve as the official body representing ALCTS in this partnership. The subcommittee will work with the SCT to 1) survey existing training materials in subject analysis, 2) determine the content of the training materials to be produced, and 3) identify the potential audience for the materials. The subcommittee chair will consult with the chair of the Subject Analysis Committeee, if policy issues arise which require clarification. The subcommittee will present progress reports to SAC at ALA meetings from Midwinter 2002 through Annual 2003. The subcommittee will develop a program or workshop for Annual 2003, and may host a discussion forum prior to that time if such is judged to be of value to its work. The continuing need for the subcommittee will be assessed at Midwinter 2005.
