Subcommittee on Fiction Guidelines
Final Report
Charge: Examine guidelines for application of subject and genre headings to individual works of fiction in GSAFD, the Library of Congress Annotated Card Program, the Sears List of Subject Headings, and LC cataloging practice. Consult with LC, AC program and Sears editors about existing guidelines and any plans for expansion or modification. Consult with authors of GSAFD about the intent of the original document. Develop recommendations for working toward a single suite of guidelines for improved, more coherent subject and genre access to individual works of fiction. The subcommittee should report on its progress at Midwinter and Annual Conferences, with a final report to SAC by Annual Conference 2003.
