I'm head of the Chemistry Library at UT-Austin, working with collections and services related to chemistry, chemical engineering, and nutrition in a large, branched research library environment. I've also been heavily involved in WWW/Internet services, publishing, and training. My personal areas of focus tend to lie in serials management, collection development, and scholarly communication trends. Before coming to Texas I was a librarian in the chemistry and engineering libraries at the Univ. of Michigan at Ann Arbor and in reference at the Sci/Eng Lib at the Univ. of Arizona where I attended library school. | ||

My experience has been solely in academic libraries (both large and small) and I've done just about everything from managing a library to doing reference and collection development work. My primary areas of subject expertise are in biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, and health sciences. I also like a wide variety of sports both as a spectator and participant, so I particularly enjoy doing collection development in that area. | ||

Worked as Engineering Ref Librarian at Cornell; Librarian at Hamilton Standard/United Technologies; Science Reference Librarian at Syracuse University; Laser Lab/Geology/Map Librarian at University of Rochester; and Public and Access Services Coordinator at SUNY/Utica. Heavy into all science, engineering and technology; access vs. ownership; document delivery; online and electronic databases. Mentoring has brought me this far through my career. I would welcome the opportunity to share whatever I have with those new to the profession. I was fortunate to have wonderful mentors and really believe this has made a difference in my path as an information professional. | ||
