Committee Charge

To encourage international cooperation and understanding among academic librarians and educators worldwide; to lead and coordinate the international relations activities of the ACRL and to improve communications regarding these activities; to advise the ACRL Board on international issues related to academic libraries; to cooperate with ALA/IRC and other divisional IRCs; to coordinate ACRL section nominations to IFLA section standing committees and recommend the nominations to the ACRL Board for approval; to make recommendations for knowledgeable and qualified individuals to serve as representatives of the ACRL Division to attend other international associations or meetings as requested; to engage in outreach activities with counterpart groups of librarians and educators abroad; and to carry out international academic library activities recommended by the ALA/IRC and the ACRL Board.
