“School Libraries Count!” aims to gather data on changes in the field to gain understanding of the state of school library media programs nationally.

NCES - State Education Reforms (SER)
This Web site is based on the report "Overview and Inventory of State Education Reforms: 1990 to 2000," and is updated periodically to incorporate new data on state education reform activities.

NCES 2007-2008 School and Staffing Survey Report (SASS)
This report presents selected findings from the library media center data files of the 2007-08 Schools and Staffing Survey (SASS). The public school sample was designed so that national-, regional-, and state-level elementary, secondary, and combined public school estimates can be made. SASS is a school-based sample, so library media centers associated with public schools and with BIE schools were included.

U.S. Department of Education - Improving Literacy through School Libraries Second Evaluation report
The Second Evaluation of the Improving Literacy Through School Libraries Program (2009) provides findings on how grant funds are targeted to schools, uses of the grant funds, staff collaboration and professional development, and the relationship between participation in the program and reading achievement scores.
