Travel & Hotel Information
New this year: You are required to register for the conference prior to (or simultaneously with) booking your hotel reservation. If you want to register and book your hotel room simultaneously, please use the same form for both registration and hotel reservations. You may pay for registration first using the enclosed form, and then add your hotel reservation later by contacting Experient. You may also pay for registration separately from your hotel reservation.

AASL has negotiated excellent group rates at all of our official conference hotels. Your patronage of these official conference hotels makes it possible for AASL to secure the space necessary for this event at a greatly reduced cost. These hotels offer discounted rates, the best AASL networking opportunities, and the best location, being situated within five blocks of the Charlotte Convention Center. Additionally, staying in these hotels helps the AASL meet its contractual obligations to the hotels, avoid penalties, and keep meeting registration prices down. Reservation Procedures
It is recommended you use the online reservation form to expedite your hotel room request. Attendees may make only one hotel reservation per registrant.
Room reservations and guarantees must be received by Experient no later than Tuesday, October 6, 2009, and are subject to availability in the AASL block. Reservations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservation requests made after October 6, 2009 will be handled on a space and rate available basis.
Room Reservation Guarantee
Each hotel requires a credit card guarantee for one night’s room rate and tax, even if you are paying for your registration by check. Experient will not charge your credit card at time of booking, but individual hotels may charge the card upon receiving the rooming list from Experient in mid-October 2009. You must provide a credit card, valid through November, 2009, to secure your reservation at time of booking. Should you need to make arrangements for a payment by check, you should do so directly with your assigned hotel after October 30, 2009.
Cancellations/Changes
To cancel or change reservations prior to October 6, 2009 please contact Experient by logging into their online system (instructions provided in your confirmation letter), in writing at the address below, or by e-mail at aasl@experient-inc.com (E-mail is recommended). Experient will accept changes and cancellations, based on availability until October 16, 2009 at 5 p.m. CT. Atthis time final reservations are being transferred to the hotels, therefore please wait until after October 23, 2009 to contact hotels directly. In order to avoid being charged first-night room and tax for cancellations, you must cancel your reservation no later than 72 hours prior to scheduled arrival.
Room Sharing
If you are sharing a room, it is important you designate ONE person to send in the request. If you hold more than one room due to sharing, you may limit the ability for other members to book a reservation. In addition, last minute cancellations are difficult for the AASL to fill with AASL reservations and put the organization at risk for financial liability to the contracted hotels.

AASL has negotiated discounted airline tickets with United Airlines.
- Save 7 percent on United's lowest applicable fares when you book and ticket 30 days or more in advance. Discounts apply on United, United Express and United code-share flights operated by Air Canada and Island Air. Applicable restrictions apply.

Reservations are available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CDT, Monday through Friday. A minimal service fee per airline ticket issued will be applied.
You may also call United Airlines directly at (800) 521-4041 and reference #500CR. To take advantage of the promotional discounts book early and remember to reference the meeting ID. Full mileage credit will be earned by frequent flyer club members.
Car Rental Discounts
AASL has negotiated special meeting rates on car rentals from all Charlotte locations of Hertz. Meeting rates apply from October 29–November 15, 2009. To get your special meeting rate, please provide the code CV# 010L0067 to your agent or when booking directly with Hertz or by phone at (800) 654-2240.

Current shuttle rates from the Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Center City hotels are $20 one way or $36 round trip, per person. Guests can access the shuttle in the Commercial Lane, just outside the airport. No advance reservation is necessary. Shuttles are on-call with a limit of 10-12ppl per shuttle. Group Rates are also available. Call ahead. Dial 58 on the Visitor Info kiosk in baggage claim for pick up.

Airport Shuttle Services for min of 10 to 500 to the following areas: Uptown, University, SouthPark and Concord. Rates range from $10 to $20 per person each way. Advance reservations required (min 24 hours). Call or email to book your reservations and get more information on all our group services. Limousine and sedan service is also available.
Taxi Information from Airport
Airport to Center City: $25.00 for 1 or 2 people; $ 2 for each additional person over 2 people. Pick-up is located across from the Welcome Desk in Baggage Claim, between Zones B and C at the Taxi Stand.. Rates to other areas of town from the airport, as well as from point to point anywhere else in the city are metered at $2.50 initial drop and $2.00 per mile.
Public Transportation
The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) operates the Sprinter Bus that runs every 20 minutes from the airport to Center City. The bus has stops near the Doubletree Gateway Village, the Marriott City Center, The Omni, and at the Transit Center where guests can either walk a few blocks or transfer to the light rail to a station near their hotels. Center City Hotels are within 5 blocks of the Transit Center. The Sprinter Bus is designed to accommodate luggage and is a hybrid, providing a ‘green’ alternative for people. Cost is $1.50 each way.
