She is passionate about school libraries and strives to install that passion in all pre-service and practicing school library media specialists.
Statement
A local district has a logo that depicts children marching together not in lock step, but with joy and excitement, connected, yet individuals, celebrating the joy of learning. The march may be challenging, but the children are encouraged to move forward, supporting each other. This simple portrayal is my image of librarianship. Even though we face seemingly insurmountable obstacles today, libraries and librarians have survived for many years and will continue. Even though our delivery systems may change, our work will continue to involve commitment, teamwork, and the implementation of plans that help to prepare students for a world we cannot even imagine. My professional concern is a positive one for the organization: to contribute to the refocusing of the energy that supports, continues and enhances our work.
